Our Materials
Sourced from FSC-certified forests in Germany and Austria. Slow-grown hardwood with pronounced medullary rays — the silver flecks that make each plank unique.
Solid White Oak · FSC® Certified
American black walnut for our dining tables — live-edge slabs that preserve the tree's natural contour. Deep chocolate grain, hand-oiled to bring out warmth and depth.
Live-edge · Water-based Oil Finish
Our lighting shades are individually hand-spun in Birmingham using 18-gauge copper sheet. Each shade develops a unique patina over decades of use.

"We make furniture that outlives trends — and the people who buy it."
Arbor Atelier was founded in 1987 in a small workshop off Bermondsey Street, London. For nearly four decades we have made furniture using the same techniques taught to us by master joiners in the Black Forest: slow, deliberate, material-first.
Each piece spends a minimum of six weeks in our workshop — air-drying, hand-planing, test-fitting, and re-fitting. We cut no shortcuts because we believe that heirlooms are not made by machines. They are made by people who care about what happens to their work in fifty years.
54 hand-cut dovetails per credenza. 3-coat water-based lacquer. Mortise & tenon joints that flex with the seasons — not screws that strip.
